BestTransport Driver Privacy Policy

Best Technology Innovation Co., Ltd. built the BestTransport Driver app for use by employees of companies that subscribe to the BestTransport transport management system. The app is provided at no cost to those employees and is intended for use as is.

This page explains what information the app collects, why it is collected, who can see it, and what rights you have over it. This page is published in Thai and English; if the two differ, the Thai version prevails.

Who is responsible for your data

Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA):

• Your work data — location, attendance, delivery jobs, trip fees, photos and SOS sent to a company — is controlled by the company you work for. That company decides how it is used and is the data controller.
• Best Technology Innovation Co., Ltd. runs the app and its servers for that company as a data processor, and is the data controller for your app account itself (name, phone number, email and sign-in methods).

Why your data may be used

• To run the app you signed up for — your account information (PDPA section 24(5), our legitimate interest in providing the app).
• To carry out your work — location, attendance, delivery jobs, trip fees and photos, under the work agreement between you and your company, and the company's legitimate interest in running and supervising deliveries (section 24(3) and 24(5)).
• To help you in an emergency — SOS, including health information such as an “illness” or “accident” report, used only to prevent danger to your life or health (section 24(2) and section 26(1)).

Because of this, the app does not ask you to tick a consent box. Using the app does not take away any of the rights below.

Location

This is the most important thing to understand about this app.

• What we collect. Your device location (latitude, longitude, accuracy, speed and the time of each reading) while you are on duty.
• When we collect it. Only during a tracking session, which begins when you clock in for a shift or start a delivery job, and ends when you clock out or finish the job. Whether tracking runs during a shift, only during a job, or not at all, is configured by the company you work for — not by this app.
• Background collection. Location is collected continuously while a tracking session is open, including when the app is in the background or the screen is off. This is necessary because a driver cannot keep the app open while driving. Whenever this is happening, the app shows a persistent notification on Android and the system location indicator on iOS, so you always know when your location is being sent.
• Who can see it. The company you are assigned to. Their dispatch staff use it to follow the progress of your delivery and to help you if something goes wrong on the road. While you are running a delivery job, the customer who ordered that job through a system connected to your company can also see your latest location, for that job only. See “Who receives your data” below for everyone who can see it. Your location is never sold and never shared with advertisers.
• Your control. You can revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings. If you do, the app tells you plainly that the company can no longer see you, and reports to the server that location is unavailable — it does not pretend to keep working.

Account information

To sign in, the app stores your name, phone number, email address (if you provide one) and the companies you are assigned to. If you sign in with Google, LINE or Apple, we receive only the basic profile information those services return for sign-in purposes.

Photos

The app can attach an optional photo when you clock in or out. Photos are taken or selected by you, uploaded to the company you work for, and stored with the corresponding attendance record. The app does not read your photo library beyond the image you select.

Work records

Clock-in and clock-out times, break times, the place recorded at each of those moments, delivery job progress, trip fees you report, and the vehicle you use are stored so that both you and your company can review them later.

Emergency contacts and SOS

• Emergency contacts. You can save the names and phone numbers of people to call in an emergency. The app and our servers never send messages, calls or your location to them. They are kept until you remove them or delete your account.
• SOS. While you are working for a company, you can send an SOS from the app. It sends your current location, the type of incident you choose and any note you type to the control room of that company only. Their screen also shows your phone number and the names and phone numbers of your emergency contacts, so they can call you or the people you listed. Each SOS is kept as part of your records.
• SOS does not call emergency services. In an emergency, call 191 (police) or 1669 (emergency medical services).

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a device token linked to your account so the company can notify you about new job assignments.

Who receives your data

• The company you work for sees all the work data described above.
• A partner transport company — if you are assigned to one, it sees your jobs, location, attendance and trip fees.
• The factory or source system that sent the job, such as Farm Service, receives your name, driver code, vehicle plate and the status of jobs that came from that system.
• The customer who ordered a job sees your latest location while you run that job only.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.

Service providers

Our servers and databases are located in Thailand (iNet data center and Amazon Web Services, Bangkok region).

• Services that work for us: Google Maps for maps and place lookup, and Expo push notification service for delivering notifications. They receive only the data needed for that function, such as a place you search for, or the device token and text of a notification.
• Sign-in services: if you choose to sign in with Google, LINE or Apple, that service handles your sign-in under its own privacy policy.

Some of these providers process data outside Thailand. This is necessary to provide the app, and we use providers that have personal data protection measures in place.

Data retention

Location points are kept for no longer than 1 year. Other work records are kept for as long as the company you work for needs them for its operations and as required by law. When your account is removed from a company, you stop appearing on their screens immediately.

When you delete your account in the app, your account, trip log, emergency contacts and notifications are deleted and cannot be restored. Work records you created for a company — attendance, delivery jobs and trip fees already claimed — stay with that company as required by law.

Your rights

You can ask to:

• see and get a copy of your data, or have it sent to another organization;
• correct data that is wrong or out of date;
• delete your data or make it anonymous, or stop it being used for a while;
• object to how your data is used.

To delete your account yourself, open My profile › Account settings › Delete my account in the app. For work records held by your company, contact that company. For anything else, email us at the address under Contact; we reply within 30 days. A request may be refused where the law requires the data to be kept, and we will tell you why. You can also complain to the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC).

Security

We use commercially reasonable means to protect your information, including encrypted connections between the app and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This app is intended for drivers who hold a driving licence and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new date at the top, and important changes are also announced in the app.
